Matthew had his first drum kit at age seven and was playing professionally at thirteens years old. His career has spanned two decades. His education includes a degree in music theory and composition and his work with the very best of Texas' blues, rock, and folk musicians, including the 1980's funk powerhouse Soul Kitchen, The Kenny Traylor Blues Band, the infamous Blarney Brothers, the legendary Chuck Rainey, and many others. Matthew's resume speaks for itself. His roots in funk and fusion provide the underlying groove for Jiggernaut, and his talent with arranging music completes a superb combination of musicianship in the group.
