"I knew that I wanted to be a singer. (This, by the way, is not a good answer when Sister Mary Holy Water asks you what you want to be when you grow up...but that's another story.)"

If all of my dreams crashed about my head tomorrow, it would still have been more than I had planned. It's funny how you can look back and see where your dreams began. I remember being about eight years old and saying to one of my friends, "Lets put on a show!." So we dragged our parents into the back yard for what must have been one of the most dreadful musical performances in history. But like all good parents they clapped...and from that moment on I was hooked. I knew that I wanted to be a singer. (This, by the way, is not a good answer when Sister Mary Holy Water asks you what you want to be when you grow up...but that's another story.)

In the Summer of 2000 I recorded my debut cd "Bright Light, Dark Sky." A collection of my favorite songs and a couple originals, it was a great learning experience, and a whole lot of fun. I played at the Tampa Bay Highland Games, and joined Wolf on stage at the Austin Celtic Association  Festival in November. It was there that Wolf asked me if I would be interested in joining the as yet unnamed Celtic band he was putting together...like there was any doubt. January of 2001 found me in Houston, rehearsing and recording with the most amazing group of musicians I could have dreamed up. Not only did we make great music, but we laughed our way through the whole time together. Since my "Free Whiski" days I had been missing that. Perhaps the biggest thrill for me was co-writing songs for the cd with both Wolf and Matthew. I will tell you that the first time I heard "Home Front" and "Legacy"...I cried. To hear something that I had a part in become a reality was a beautiful moment. It is a rare thing to find people who make such wonderful music, and it is even more incredible to find people who make such wonderful friends. Maybe Texas isn't so far from home.
